My paintings come from personal history that I shape into narratives. My process is intuitive, and I often wait for the images to arise spontaneously. I like my pieces to surprise me.

The time between waking and sleeping is rich and full of images for me. At other times I deliberately contemplate an idea or experience too see what I can visualize .

Living in Gloucester, I feel close to the forces of Nature, aware of the sun and the moon, the continual movement of the tides, and the beauty and the danger of the ocean.  These flow into my work as metaphors for my life.
